Default fuel filter direction

which way? the old fuel filter, which i didn't install, was mounted in the same position as the one in the crappy pic in the Chilton manual. had that one on there for 2 years and seemed to run fine. I mounted the new motorcraft filter according to the direction of the arrow on the filter. i figure the arrow is in the same direction as fuel flow...so the arrow is pointing towards the axle and driver's side of the vehicle and into the hard fuel lines that lead to the front of the car. this was in the opposite position of the old one. drove it around and seemed fine. i could not find an arrow on the old filter as it was rusted badly. which way? one has to be wrong.

Default Re: fuel filter direction

Arrow points in the direction of fuel flow.
