Look at Central Coast Mustang (California)or Excessive Motorsports (Missouri). Both of these companies have long blocks at very competetive prices. You'll still have to purchase intake, electronics and accessories, but you won't get much cheaper for a long block. If you only want to spend a couple of thousand, you won't have much choice other than a stock type engine. If you want a little more excitement, you'll have to spend a bit more. Check out the latest MM&FF or 5.0 magazine. Both companies have full page spreads.
I'm looking into an engine swap also. I'm seriously considering going with CCM. They have come highly recommended and are very knowledgeable and friendly.
Good luck.
