![]() Well I pulled the engine and the tranny last night and dropped the oil pan and I didnt find any debri in the pan.
![]() Removed the pick up and didnt find any debri in there. I then removed the oil pump and the piece of broken shaft was still in the pump. Lucky me it was a clean break. The pump was siezed up. I took the pump apart and couldnt find a reason why it siezed up. I removed the main caps and the bearings look great. I purchased an ARP hardened oil pump shaft and a new stock pump and I should drop the engine back in there tonight. What a relief.

![]() I did find one problem when removing the upper intake though. It was full of oil. Lots of oil. My PCV valve was bad. That cant be good for HP. Pulling th engine to get to the pump was the only way to go. I just wouldnt of had any piece of mind without checking the bearings.

![]() It's funny that you mention that about the oil in the intake because I have that too. From what I've heard, if you have an aftermarket cam that produces low vacuum at idle, the PCV will not operate properly due to the low vacuum. I've heard that switching to a 85GT PCV is the way to go as it has a stronger (or weaker, can't remember) spring mechanism that works very well with cars that have low vacuum. I'm going to give it a try.
