Who makes the best Stroker Kits??
I'm looking for either a 377 or 393 stroker kit to order within the next 3 days. My engine builder suggested the 377 due to the smaller deck height of the '69 351W shortblock. I also need to pass the emissions dyno and plan on using cats along with the Edlebrock HEads and EFI system (Do I need cannister purge and Thermactor??). I know a lot of you guys are running the 347 strokers.....who do you recommend for heavy street use??

I have a Coast High Performance 347 in my 66 coupe (see sig). It is a daily driver that sees drag racing and autocrossing, and I have NEVER had any problems. The customer service was excellent before and after the purchase. Since I only purchased the short block I had a chance to really examine the workamnship. Excellent work. Since I was putting this setup in a 66 coupe I had a TON of questions, they were always willing to talk with me and answer all my questions. I have been to their shop several times and it is a nice facility. I don't think you could go wrong with Coast High, I have never heard anything bad about em.

In my opinion Eagle makes the best kits around, I purchased a fully balanced kit, absolutely beautiful, well goodluck in whatever you choose.

I've also heard good things about Bennett Racing. A friend of mine had a 347 built for his car, went 11.60's @115-116mph with 3.73's, TFS heads, cobra intake, 347, exhaust, lunati cam, bolt ons.

I contacted Coast High and they were pretty cool. I have yet to give their ph. number to my engine builder. I'll let you all know how it works out.

FPS makes good ones too - I have a buddy running their 426 kit in a '69 351w block with great results. Over 50k miles on it and still running strong (he pulled it apart at 40k, just to check and it still looked fairly new). That 426 hasn't been babied either - it's in a Early Bronco and he rock crawls, mod bogs, and drag races it - heck he ran mid to high 12's in the 1/4 pushing that heavy box through the air. Not sure of his full combo - but I know he has ported TFS-TW heads, TFS intake, FMS shorty headers to a single 3" exhaust. He's running <70mm TB and MAf so he could proabbly run better on the top end if he went larger.

12's in a Bronco, that's wild. What heads did your buddy use? Did he have to pass emissions with it?

he's running ported TFS-TW street heads and a custom grind cam through a C4. Not sure if he had to pass emmisions or not - in CO, if you register as a classic, you only have to pass pre-88 specs when you first register and then as long as you keep the registration current, you never have to pass again. I'd venture to say that he could pass though.
