393 stroker with a 20+psi procharger
I have just now taken the money out of the bank to finally build my motor for my 92 mustang gt. I have decided on the 351w man-o-war block and the novi2000 procharger. This motor will be done hopefully by begining of summer so hopefully i can take it back to ohio and see some friends and some major racing. got somepeople against fords tthat i wanna zip there mouths shut. If you have any ideas i would appreciate them or anybody with kinda the same setup 393 with power adderr would be appreciated. right now though it has some simple stuff on the 5.0. I have underdrive pulleys, gt-40 heads, gt-40 upper and lower intake, 24lb injectors. b303 cam, centerforce dual friction clutch, and a tremec racing tranni i got off of mike at DAYTON 5.0 PERFORMANCE. I am gonna use the same tranny for right now. cant wait to go trans am hunting!!!!!!!!

novi and procharger are 2 diff blowers. Which one are you going to be using.
your gonna be making 2-3 times the hp you have now. I hope your doing more than just the engine.

You better have the right suspension, chasis, safety equipment and be able to drive it safely too - ever experienced tire shake before? You will now............

Re: 393 stroker with a 20+psi procharger
There are alot of things to consider when laying out the plans for a 9 second car.
Stock tranny would be a joke. Rear end would need major upgrades. 8 or 10 point roll cage. lots of suspension work. That motor in a basicly stock 5.0 body would destroy the car.

Re: 393 stroker with a 20+psi procharger
I have considered all of that i was asking opinions also. My dad was a ford mechanic for 35+ years so he is helping me out. I was wondering if a novi 2000 supercharger or a , ATI procharger f1(comes with a front mount intercooler) , would be better. The motor will be built also the whole suspension, i also have a tremec tranni with heavy duty gears. the roll cage is also going in it. As, soon as it is built and broken in right i am making a trip back to ohio to race a turbo mustang, that is why i was asking if anyone had any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. and if anyone know any info the power adders.

With the right parts and tune it could be a real beast - @ 20psi on a YSi I've seen power to get a prepped car well into the 9s. Be sure your driving skills are up to the task. Tech inspoection will do the rest - and I hope you get a good tech inspection.

Re: 393 stroker with a 20+psi procharger
YSI?????? but yeah i am doing more than just building the motor it is getting the suspension too. Any suggestions on the suspension????? that supercharger the novi2000 says it is capable of 27 psi and i plan on putting a really efficient intercooler on it for it also. I am open to suggestions. It has a 3.73 ratio gear in the rear end.

Re: 393 stroker with a 20+psi procharger
No offense, but do you realize what it takes to make 20 psi on any motor? None of the parts you've listed in the original post are 20psi parts. If you really have your sights sets on a 20psi motor, I'd suggest finding the nearest NMRA or FFW Renegade racer and asking them what it takes to make 20 psi and have it last for more than the first pass down track.
