3G alternator wiring... Need help
O.K. I am pretty much finished with the install except for one wire. The old power wire (black with orange stripe) joined with a yellow wire right before the solenoid. What wire is that? Is is the same yellow wire that goes to the "D" shaped plug on the alternator? I am doing away with the black/orange wire and using a 4AWG wire instead. I just want to make sure that I get the yellow hooked up correctly. Can I just put a connector on there and attach it to the + side of the solenoid? This is a 3G upgrade on an 89 Fox. Thanks in advance.

Did you install a 4gauge wire to battery to handle the increased amps? If not, it could be a fry baby on you.

Wire
I sure did. However, nobody else seems to think it is necessary? Why in the world would you even take a chance.

I'm pretty sure that 94-95 mustangs only have 10 gauge wire and they come stock with the bigger alt.
