Default 4 cyl to 351W swap wire harness ????

I am under way on my 89LX coupe 2.3 to 351W swap project. How much of the wire harness from the computer can be eliminated? Is there any wires that I need from the computer? I will be running all MSD ignition and a carb. From what I see I only need the alt, starter, and that all comes from the harness on the drivers side. Wanted to get some good advice before I go in there with a big axe and start chopping wires. Thanks guys..

I have done this twice already. You can take the entire harness out. Along with the computer and a few relays and stuff from the fenders. You will unplug everything from the two plugs by the master cylinder. It is amazing how much the harness weighs. It is simpler for using the msd ignition. You need a voltmeter to find a 12v switched wire to run to the msd box. I use the little blue splice connectors and it works fine. You can find the wire in the gray plug by the master cylinder. I think it is the gray one it may be the black one. The instructions on the msd tell you how to wire up your distributor. BTW, I read your earlier post on how to do the fuel pickup for the carburetor. I did mine like the others said. And it works like a charm. Hope this helps.

yea, just yank the whole harness. You don't need any of it.
