Ok.....thanks.

What do you have for starters if anything?

Do you have anyting on the car as of yet or is it a bare shell?

Is this your daily driver?

How fast do you want to go?

What is the main intent of the build? strip, road race, street only.. what?

How much do you want to spend?

What are your mech abilites?

Is this your first car build or have you done other builds? (Chevy, Mopar)?
Once you answer these questions I can close in on what to do and how much.

Who built your motor?
And is it a 5-speed or auto?
Your car is going to need the following unless you already have it.
8-10+ point cage
Battle boxes
After market rear control arms.
I prefer a complete Aeromotive fuel system...
A-1000 pump
13204 bypass regulator
Fuel log
-10 feed line
-8 return line.
Msd ignition...complete! 6al or 7 al-2....with the billet dist., blaster 3 coil (min), MSD wires, 2-step, multi-step retard, etc.
Suspension..
70/30 lakewood struts
4 cyl springs
50/50 shocks
battery relocated to the trunk.
remove the sway bar if your into drag racing
28x10.5 slicks,etc,
...these are minimum things that you would need, but can upgrade all of them.

Default 418 help

thanks for helping ,allright my motor is bieng built bye ford performance solutions you prob know of him he is very good plus i get a really good price to. i have built 2 other engines 306,347but i have not went all out. i have allways wanted this car so i can almost afford this not really oh well my engine cost me almost $9500 so im in now my problem is i bought a 92 vert dumb idea paid way to much 3000 now im selling it for 2000 very clean car anyway the trans will be a strong c4 i get lifetime warrany and i can send it in every year for rebuild i am going to put a 8 -10 pt plus all the control arms and stuff i just dont were to begin i want to do it fast but that not allays good huh. is your car efi or carb mine is a carb 850 speed demon prob 2inch headers what kind of comp is your engine?mine is 13.5 1/2 to 1. i have to run at least 110 oct prob vp maybe sunoco i dont know if i should tub or drag rad i hope to be able to drive on the street the converter will probably be 4500 but i dont know yet.what do you run ? what is your engine size? and you do use nos? curious to see what you run i want to be in 9s or very low 10s 8s would be great. phil clemmons ran a 8.39 in the drag rad at nmra event here in kc it was awseome i live like 5 miles from the track (kcir)

Price is good!
Mine is close to that combo. Sounds like you are going to run a solid roller...Duration at .050 is going to be at least 250+ so that means the speed demon is out of the question. Mighty Demon is what I have and sounds like that is what you will most likey need or a Race Demon. 850 cfm is about what I would say to run too. Not any bigger. If Holley carb... a 950hp or 1050hp would be in order.
As goes for traction....how much of a power adder are you thinking about,... if any?
Anything more then a 275 shot?
If so you might want to consider a glide due to traction issues! If you do hook (very possiable) with a C-4...you will be fighting to keep the front tires as close to the ground as possiable! Other wise the back bumper might get some scratches.

The converter I run and O N L Y converter I would run is a TCT converter from Lenny. I run a 4800 stall 9 inch with 8 inch billet sprag. (3% slippage) Very loose bottom end and locks up hard on the top end! Car runs REAL HARD! 10's on nuts in pump gas tune!

If your is done the way I think it is (with the parts mentioned) you should be able to run a 10.20 or faster on motor. Depending on the cam profile (more for nitrous or motor). At that speed a 250 shot should drop you a full second. If you can make it leave straight and not wheel stand.
As goes for what engine size I have....it's in my name! and nitro means nitrous.

Thumbs up Throwing in my 2 cents...

Building pretty much the same thing myself (410) but building everything on my own. Taking out my mighty 302 that could (and did!) Started with a 1969 351 block, and went from there. 420Nitro is dead on with everythig so far, but here's a few smaller probs you might over look.

Headers, go with Hooker Super comps, and bring your checkbook. If you run TFS R or even a high port head, now you're talking cu$tom header$. Crossmember, 4 cyl has a whimpy (bendable) crossmember. Fuel issues, how to get it outta the tank??? Go sump, or fuel cell. Right now I have a Granatelli pickup, but I'm guessing it's not gonna cut it. -10 carb, -6 for Nitrous side, no return. Rethinking that too.

My adivce on where to start, just start. You know the motor's coming, so get the rest of the driveline taken care of. Get the rear end out, put in battle boxes, new control arms, get that taken care of. Get the tranny in, driveshaft (don't forget the safety hoop) crossmember. You get the idea. Have it as far along as you can, so when the motor shows up, slide her on in and go!

Good luck, and keep us posted! My block is just now heading to the machine shop, so I'm a month or so out. Hopefully this summer though!!!

At this level.....we don't want to run the stock tank! Put the fuel cell in and run the lines from the sump. Safer for you as a driver and better for the pump.

Headers.... we/you/anyone else/ gonna want at least a 1 7/8 headers if not a step header that will go from a 1 7/8 to a 2 inch or just go straight to a 2 inch header. At that point fit really becomes an issue! I can get the HOOK UP on Kook headers!!!!!!! They are worth the $$$$...120%!!! If you are intrested in a set of Kook headers,.. send me a PM and I will see if I can help you enough,... to persway ya!

Fuel system...for a big windsor (400+ cubes)
You want a -10 feed and -8 return. No dead head fuel system.
I got the hook up on that too!
