4 cyl front springs
 

Hey, if anyone is running 4 cyl front springs in their V8 car, are you using the spring insulators? I'm trying to decide if I should use mine or not on my strip only car. I want it to be slammed, but not too slammed. How far will it drop with the insulators in there? Thanks.

Mine droped about 1 inch. I used the insulators.

mine dropped like 1.5 but i added more weight over the front .

I also used the isolators

Dark_5.0 & BilLster...are you guys just running the 4cyl. springs in the front or all the way around? How do they work on the strip? Do they handle ok on the street? And what struts/shocks are you running with them? I was thinking of trying some out, but my car sees more street driving then strip.

Wow, BilLster...I just read your sig. That's a pretty impressive 1/4 mile time. I take it your stang is a strip only car? Even so, I'm interested in how your suspension is set up?

I put them in without the isolators and chopped about two coils off them. My 25" tall E/T Fronts are tucked up into the wheel wells. It can be a biotch to get the car on and off the trailer though and jacking is another royal PITA. But the car looks great slammed this much and the weight transfer off the transbrake is fantastic.

yea i used them on the 87 5.0..the front would stay up high in the 1/4 th entire time b4 i put them in..now it sits alot nicer and the front comes down after the launch

So you guys think they'd be ok for street driving also then? Safe? When taking a bend on a freeway overpass at 70mph??

I am using them in the front and the rear. They are OK for the street and killer on the strip.

The rear ones dont drop the car at all.

I put in the 4 cyl springs this weekend, with no rubber insulator things, and i cut half of a coil off. It's sitting at stock height with no engine in it. HEHEHEHEEHE. It's gonna be slammed. Thanks for the advice guys.
