I disagree...I can't speak for stock (my car came with aftermarket front and rear sway bars...and I think some other parts), but my friend's 93 camaro feels like a boat. If they did handle worth crap, I think more people might actually buy them. I have never driven a camaro that I liked. Not just because of the Mustang vs. Camaro thing (although that may help fuel the fire...), but I just think they suck! (Note: His car wasn't a z28 or ss or anything..so I can't speak for those...but I did drive a z28 once, and I was also not a fan of that...)

You don't have to leave. Hell I hung around here and posted while I had a 1990 Dodge Dynasty.

Mr 5.0 is probably the most helpful/informative person on this board. He was just trying to detract from posts like this (no real direction...)

I don't think anyone minds if you stay around and ask questions, but I think he was just pointing out the fact that you might have wanted to talk to your dad before coming on here, since the direction of this post has changed like 8 times.

I still say drive the car for two years, and get a 5.0. I don't think I would waste my money on a bug. You will be happy you did when that day comes.

Thanks,
DoranW

HopingForAGT-

You got a Hyundai to do 105 mph?!?!? I'm impressed!

Sonics2042-

I've never been fond of the camaros that much myself, but I have never ridden in a stock vehicle that handled better than my '77 Trans Am. I swear that car was just like riding on rails. No matter how hard I turned the wheel, it always went exactly where I pointed it, and hardly had any lean at all. That really was a fun car.

Rustang5.Low-

Dude, your boyfriend needs his diaper changed. You really smell bad. It's people, I mean kids, like you that try to start schit at a great site with your own self worthlessness, but the jokes on you. Even someone as cranially challenged as you can't begin to drag this site down. Try one of the Chevy sites. They love idiots.

Take care,
-Chris

Re-direction

FordKid68:

I suspected you might be offended by my last post and I'm sorry if you were but a lot of people took a lot of time to type out many messages to you in order to assist you in deciding what to go with and you end up not buying anything, which is fine, but it seemed as if you really don't know which way to go and the more input you get the more confusing it is.

You're not the first person to do this here and I wanted to make the point that we like to talk Mustangs, offer suggestions, relate experiences and give advice but it seemed as if you were just day-dreaming about cars and not being serious while letting our members post message after message to you in the expectation that you were using these as a way to make a car decision.

I understand your frustration about not being taken seriously and that it's annoying but I also hope you can get past your annoyance for a moment and see why people don't take some teenagers seriously. This thread is a good example of that and I wanted you (and others) to see it.

When you do get serious about buying a 'Stang this site will still be here and our members will be ready to help, just as they are now. No one wants to offend you, including me, but that's a two-way street. Respect our member's time and effort in posting information to you, too.

Sorry for any misunderstanding (and that little kid who posted flames - he's gone). We'll trust there are no hard feelings so please visit us again and feel free to comment or ask questions when you have them.

fordkid68 04-19-2002 11:26 AM

Mr 5 0 I know what your saying and I did apologize for waisting your members time. and I am not day dreaming I am going to get A mustang and when I do I will come back.

Hey Fordkid, hang on for a minute. What Jim's saying is you are always welcome here, and the members will always try and help you. That's what makes this such a great site. I can't speak for anyone else, by I really enjoy helping people that want to be helped. Sometimes it actually get's kinda overwhelming, and believe it or not, I often find myself thinking about a member's problems while I'm working on one of my customers cars. Sometimes, I start to feel really taxed, but it's for a good cause, you know? Well, it get's frustrating when I'm later made to feel like someone was just wasting my time. That's NOT AT ALL what's happening with you! I'm just making an example. You sound to me like a good guy, with good intentions, and even if you go totally VW, I hope that you'll still hang around and post sometimes. Knowledge is a great thing, and every single one of us has room for more. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to learn something from you before long.

I hope you'll stay.

Take care,
-Chris

Rustang-

I was just going to ignore you in hopes you'd get bored and drift away, but your next to last post almost had traces of dignity. Almost.

Hey Kid, don't worry about what these arrogant dikkheads think, You didn't do anything wrong.
That was the first sentence you ever wrote in these forums, so don't try and come off as Mr. Innocent. If you introduce yourself by slapping someones face, rather than shaking their hand, what could you possibly expect.

Quote:

And your age has nothing to do with it.
And that was your second one. Age has everything to do with it. As you get older, you'll see what I mean.

I'm not sure who gave your friend bad advice, but that really suprises me, because this is a very friendly, experienced site. Unfortunately, you have already decided against that being possible, which only hurts you.

I don't claim to know everything, but I do have a fairly impressive background. Either way, I, like so many other members here, try to help people out when I can. I can only think of maybe 2 or 3 members who usually are rude and demeaning in their replies, and if it was one of them that set you off, I actually do understand your reasoning. A couple of them are assholes. There is no question. BUT, the VAST majority of the members here are truly great people, and they would and do go well out of their way to help others.

There are all kinds of vehicles owned by the members. If you think you have the fastest Chevy here, you better go back and stand in line. I personally like older Oldsmobiles, but after building a nitrous injected 403 and droping it into a 4000 pound cruiser, I decided there was more fun to be had than breaking transmission out put shafts.

I currectly crew for Jim Porter. We won the VRA Senior Sprint Car Championship last year, and we did it with a 750hp N/A small block Chevy.

Before you become any more like the person you are criticizing, try looking at this site through a clear pair of lenses. If you're lucky, you just might be able to see this site for what it really is. Don't be so closed minded. Again, you're the only one who suffers.

Good luck.

Really.

Take care,
-Chris

Re: 4 vs 8

I just bought a 88 4cly coupe no option car and a 88 tbird turbo coupe ( i got both cars for 800.00)combining the best parts from the tbird and putting them into the mustang should yield a quick fuel effiecent mustang without all the extra weight of the svo, by the way a stock turbo motor will hold over 300 hp. with some added bost keeping up with a stock 5.0 shouldnt be a problem. the goal is to build the mustang and sell off everything else to keep a very small budget
