4Cyl. Springs???????

how much will they lower my 88gt, and will i have a lot better traction, or is it not really worth it?

they are cheep, and i cannot afford the eibach springs for a while, but i can get my hands on a set of 4cyl springs for really cheep.

thanks

I wouldn't put them in, unless you plan on strictly drag racing at the track. Your car probaly wouldn't handle too good either. They will lower it a little bit, just because they are weaker and aren't made to support the weight of a V8. Your front end will be bouncy, but you'll get better weight distribution in a straight line. For a street car, I wouldn't put them in. You really won't be able to take advantage of the 4 cyl. springs on street tires. Slicks you will though.

i dont care for cornering fast, just going the speed limit around corners, and i am drag racing all summer. for a car that will not be cornering fast, just need to hook up & go in a straight line, would they be good?

thanks

How much can you get them for is the question? Also, have you considered getting some drag racing shocks?

1BAD89 03-29-2002 02:37 AM

I forgot to ask if you are planning on running slicks?

Big Bopper 03-29-2002 02:50 AM

Hey bow tie eater,.. if you come up to the coast I'll give you a set of 4 cyl springs FREE.. Don't buy em!

BowTie Eater 5 Liter 03-29-2002 02:50 AM

yes, eventually(once money permits) i will run some et streets, or at least some drag radials.

i will eventually get some 70/30's, or maby even 90/10's, and 50/50's, with some ssm liftbars(maby, sont want to shred my torque boxed).

i will get 373 gears in the car this season, and hopefullt some good tires.
i will pull the sway bar for racing if i do get the 4cyl springs.

Big B, how far away do you live?

id come up & get some springs if i could drive there & back in a day.

1BAD89 03-29-2002 02:54 AM

Slicks would be the first thing I would suggest getting, if you plan on doing alot of drag racing. Guaranteed to knock off around .5's your best street tire time, you can't beat that. :)

Big Bopper 03-29-2002 02:54 AM

Go to Horseshoe bay ferry terminal... Ride ferry for 35 mins ...drive for 30 mins ... your here!

BowTie Eater 5 Liter 03-29-2002 02:59 AM

Big B, how much does the ferry ride cost?

1BAD89, why not get the suspension started first?, tires are damn expencive around here, like over 230 a piece

Big Bopper 03-29-2002 02:59 AM

Bow tie eater.... do you still have the wiring diagram for your fans? I disconnected mine and can't remember how to hook it back up!?#@!$#%
Must be that 4:20 smoke break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BowTie Eater 5 Liter 03-29-2002 03:04 AM

hers a link, i got mine from my dad, and it didnt have the wiring diagram, so i had to search for one

http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/auto.htm
just search around on that site, and you will probably find what you are looking for

Big Bopper 03-29-2002 03:04 AM

The ferry is $40.00 but... if you leave your car on your side ...ride across as a foot passenger it only costs $7.50.. You would just have to carry those springs by hand...Gotta go offline but e-mail me if you want anything else I have a 6 acre mustang grave yard!See ya!

i got 4 banger springs in the notch and the best way to descibe my car with 4 banger springs, 50/50s, 70/30s and sway barless is "as loose as a 2 dolla wh0re"..still love it though..people swear up and down that i lift the front end off the ground all the time on the street with crappy tires
