![]() Also, the final nail in the coffin (and a good thing it was nailed) was that the 5.0 badges were cheaper to make than 4.9. Something about a 9 being more difficult to cast and taking more plastic. Just think, that extra dollar or two of savings was passed directly onto the dealer.

Most auto manufacturers round actual engine sizes up or down a bit for simplicity or, in the case of the 5.0, for better marketing value. No big deal. |
