5.4 supercharged Ford Lightning Harley edition?

Can anybody tell me if this is a good motor to install in my 89 Fox

It's out of a 97 harley davidson edition Ford Lightning.

It comes with a supercharger already on it.

Any advice would be welcomed. :D

One of the Stang' mags did it a while back, it was an UGLY fit...
(you'll need like an 8 inch cowl) :D

Holy Shiznit batman are you serious.

Well then i guess i'll just have to buy a regular 351W block.

Man this is going to be an adventure.

Thanks:confused:

The Lightning and Harley Davidson edition are two different trucks. The Lightning came with a blower, the Harley Davidson edition didn't. So is it a Lightning motor or a Harley edition regular 5.4 that someone put a blower on?
As far as the swap, I'd say go for it. It is a tight fit and you definitely would need a new hood, but I don't think you have to do any crazy cutting or anything. It would definitely be unique.

IT's a harley 5.4 motor and its got a blower on it so i guess if i can fit it i think it would be cool....

Then i can say "Oh yes that hood is that high for a reason :D :D "

You can get the new Harley packages with a supercharger on them. It is a roots type, like the one in the Lightning and produces somewhere around 365 hp. I'm unsure if they came on a 97 Harley or not. Correct me if I'm wrong, but, I thoughtthe Harley Davidson F-150 was new in 99 or 00.

came out in 99, the year after my father bought his pickup.

I'd personally get a non blown 5.4 and blow it via ATI or vortech. would get more power than the roots,

'02 was the first year for the SC 5.4L in the HD F150's, and its standard, not an option. Its basically a Lightning motor with less boost and a conservative computer tune.
The motor can be swaped into your Fox, but there are so many other better options that the only practical reason to do it would be just to be different on the show scene.

Not sure what you mean, as neither the HD or Lightning was made in '97, let alone a factory SC'ed engine. Its probably a type-o.

It was MM&FF that put one in an 85 or 86 stang. It was a lightning motor, I believe. The swap is possible and as mentioned before, it is a tight fit. One thing that you need is a different crossmember for the mod motor. Some company makes one (can't think of which at the moment). If you've got any back issues of Muscle Mustangs I'd suggest going through them. I hope that I've been a little helpful.

Ps. The swap would be pretty neat though.

Daniel.
