I would go with the 2000 Systemax package, 160 for gears, 180 for headers, and 110 for H-pipe. I would then get a K&N!!!

How's about an Ati P1sc blower. The non-intercooled version goes for about $2500.00 and with that thing I've witnessed a near-stock(converter,3.73 gears)Lx run 11.80's. The rest of the car was BONE STOCK ....

I'll look into that.

I've looked into it and it looks like heads/cam/intake is the best way to go.

fiveohpatrol 07-07-2002 12:24 PM

if you plan on starting with an almost bone stock stang, then $2500 won't be enough to do heads/cam/intake AND all the other stuff that you'll need to do first like exhaust, TB, MAF, fuel pressure regulator, shifter, good tires, suspension..... etc

tireburner163 07-08-2002 01:14 AM

GT-40P heads: 640
Explorer intake: 275
Headers: 200
H-pipe: 125
TFS #1 cam: 140
65mm TB: 175
76mm mass-air: 220
shifter: 180
gears: 400

total: $2,355

WTF....I'm from the south...I've been rebuilding stuff since I was 3:D

hey, i would think about where i want to end up speed wise. i know you havwe a 4 cylinder car and converting to a 5.0, but ever think about going straight to a 351W. Sacrificing a little now will put you in a faster car later. cause better is the enemy of good enough. so if you think that maybe you would want to crack 11.s on motor, start with a package you can build on and will save you alot of money in the long run.

tireburner163 07-09-2002 01:30 PM

I'm not converting to a 5.0. I'm buying a whole different car this winter, selling my 2.3, and using the money I get from selling it to mod the 5.0 I will be buying.

Don't forget about the $100 for gaskets like Skyman included.;)
