Default A brake question

I'm helping a friend replace rotors and pads on his 90 LX 5.0 today, and I was wondering if this could be done without having to bleed the brakes?

no u don't have to bleed the calipers, but when u push the piston back in the bore open the bleeder valve so you don't push all that dirty brake fluid back up into the master clyinder, close the bleeder install pads and rotors pump the brakes up now take the cap off the master clyinder fill it up now open up both bleed screws don't touch the brake pedel- soon you will see fluid comin out with no bubbles close them then fill master put the cap on! with the cap off you have 14psi pushin the fluid out, it's called self bleeding////// yes repack the bearings

you rock, but unfortunately its a bit too late. I read another article that didn't mention the thing about bleeding the calipers only so I just opened the brake fluid resevoir and let the level rise a little, some spilled out, ciphoned the proper amount and closed it up and it worked... Odd though, now there is a soft grinding noise when turning... Could this be the pads breaking in?

maybe, also check the backing plate but i think it plastic/ya pushing the fluid back up to the master can be very bad news i never do that anymore! this can wreak the master by blocking ports in it and also fliping the cups inside aslo seen lots of ABS brake units disabled because of that.
