I had mine removed when I had my gears put in. It's around 9lbs and basically a 75/25 chance you will be ok. The other 25% of the people experience vibrations at high speeds (highway speeds) and need to get a balanced aluminum driveshaft. If I were you though, I'd take it off and see if you get a vibration, if you don't, great, if you do, it just gives you an excuse to upgrade to an aluminum driveshaft. ~Brian
