Post 8.8rear

is the 8.8 used in the ford trucks the same
as teh one used in teh mustang.....are the
ring and pinions interchangable?

The 8.8 Housings are different. The truck ones are wider. The carriers are the same so yes you can interchange them. Also you can change gears. I don't know which years ect. but some/all? the truck carriers are 31 spline shafts instead of 28 so you would need axles.

If you are looking for cheap gears you can get 4x4 trucks with 3.73 or 4.10. Also 87-88 turbo T-birds have 3.73 and 3.55.
