'85 clutch swap problems, cable too long
I have a 1985 Mustang 5.0 GT. I replaced the stock 10 inch clutch and flywheel with a 1986 10.5 inch clutch and throw-out bearing. Now my clutch cable is too long and I cannot get the clutch to release correctly. The pedal pressure is also a lot higher. Do I need a different TO bearing? I replaced the clutch cable with an adjustable one, but the problem remains.

You did get the 10.5 flywheel too right?

Yes, I did buy the new 10.5" flywheel. I took some measurements a couple of days ago, and it apppears that a longer pivot bolt may be needed. It looks like it needs to be about 0.4" longer in order for the cable to work. I may try adding some shims behind the pivot bolt and see if that fixes it.
