86GT Stock Gearing?
What is the stock gear ratio of an 86GT?
What would be a better highway/occasional strip ratio, 3:23 or 3:55? How much affect would either of these have on my gas mileage? |

stock gearing is 2.73 unless the person who ordered the car from the factory with the rear gear option, that would make it 3.08's... most people don't order this so i would say you have the 2.73's
do not get the 3.27's you wont notice much of anything.... but get the 3.55's or the 3.73's steve ------------------ Project Bird Turd GNC Racing & Performance Scarzi's Machine Works |

Yep, odds are you have 2.73s. Get 3.55s or 3.73s, most people don't notice much effect on gas mileage, just that you have to shift more. Is your's an auto or manual?

It's a 5spd.
Thanks for the help, I will probably go with the 3:55s. How hard is the speedometer to recalibrate after the gear change?

All it takes is a speedo gear change. That's about 10min.
