87' 2.3 shaved head?
 
Hey im thinkin' about taking y stock 2.3 head to a machine shop this week and getting it shaved. do i need to get new valves to anything like that if i shave the head? what exactlly is involed and what kind of performance incress should i expect? (also getting headers).

If you mill your head be sure to get an adjustable cam gear. Milling the head for compression is a good idea but when it sits lower the tensioner takes up the slack caused by less distance and i believe it would cause the timing to become slightly retarded. If you do mill it make sure to talk to a company like racer walsh or esslinger engineering (or anyone who knows about OHC engines) to see what you'd do to correct cam timing.
