Future Mods Flex-a-lite elec. fan, cowl hood, wieand stealth intake, holley ??? d.p.carb., built t-5, e-303, pulleys, full autometer guages, msd box, mallory unilite dist, and coil, roll cage, ATI procharger kit for carb and then the big motor after a year or two, 408 stroker form a 351.

I don't know much about steering columns, but i think they stopped making tilt colums when they started putting air bags in stangs so you may not be able to convert it.

Thats ok. The air bag doesnt work anyway. The car was wrecked before i got it and the air bag was not deployed. IF anybody needs a good air bag equipped steering wheel I have 2.

it is possible to install the tilt column, however there are a few things that must be done. you must use the entire column. also, some of the trim will not fit with the small differences in the upper and lower parts of the dash. also, there is some other concerns. if the car is an automatic, you must also use the linkage for the shift interlock, and adapt that to your tilt column. use the steering wheel from the 88. consult shop manuals from ford for both year cars, it will give you exploded views of both columns to compare.

It the Interlock the NEutral safety switch or something? Please explain. I am swapping a t-5 into the car sometime and will probably do the column when I do the motor and tranny.

This is supposed to be a fairly easy swap. I emailed the guy that wrote that article awhile back and he explained to me thet the horn and crusie control wires on the columns is the only wiring that is different. You just have to cut those wires and splice in the correct connectors to make it work. You will have to remove the turn signal from the original column and bolt onto the 88 column too. And the trim pieces from the 88 will be used to trim up the coulmn after it is complete and should fit perfectly.

Gunning for 12's!
