Default 89 doors on 86 GT???? Will they fit?

My friends looking to replace the doors on his 86 GT, theres a set available from a late 80's GT complete with inner panels/glass. I know the inside looks different, but the only thing I noticed is the outside sill right below the window weatherstrip on the new door has a plastic panel on it, can it be removed to line up with the 86 bodylines?

i tell you like this i hade and 86 gt worked and i came acrossed a 88 and 92 lx hatchback they both had blown motors, and the guy solded them to me for 300 bucks for both, i like the style of the there interior better so i converted and i took the door of the 88 and it bolted right up to the 85 even the wiring harness fits, the other side i used the 92 door and that also bolted right up,
So yes it does work.
