the pilot bearing is in the end of the crankshaft. on manual transmission cars, the input shaft of the tranny sticks inside the pilot bearing and it keeps the input shaft straight.
Does your truck motor still have its old flywheel on it? If it does and it was a manual, then you'll need to use your old flywheel.
