GT to LX rear bumper
Hi All,
Anybody ever swap a GT rear bumper for an LX's? That way you could go with the chrome tails. Anyone ever seen this. curious as to how it would look. Jayson |

you can do the swap, but why?? the moldings on the side of a GT are wider then the moldings on a LX. so the rear will look out of place. you might want to look into a cobra rear bumper! many places sell them and there not too expensive. it will look much better and you can fit 3" crome tips no problem.

When I bought my car, it was 100% stock. Now it's a camero SS eating machine. Take a look at my car (the link is in the sig) and see what it looks like. I have the cobra rear bumper with 2 1/2" chrome tips. I just love the look. It looks very agressive and mean. I think you'll like it better. The best way to describe the bumper is right behind the wheels, it hangs as low as the GT and angles up to where the LX would be. You get the best of both worlds.

Bumpers
I have also seen (in a Magazine a long time ago when I dreamed of owning a Mustang), a how-to for a dual exhaust modification where you actually extend the pipes straight out the back of the rear bumper cover. They did the cutting, then popped a chrome ring around the cut out and stuck the pipes through. It looked like a modern day version of the late 60's stangs with dual exhaust option. The tips just stuck out the back, it was really cool looking IMO.
