Default 92 Stang project question....

I just got a 79 Ltd for 250.00 with a rebuilt .030 over 302 engine. Basically thats why I bought it, for the engine. I was wondering first, if it has a c6 tranny should I hang on to it, and what are the odds it has a nine inch rear, and if so would it work in the Mustang?
The Mustang goal is 500 HP on motor only, thats why I am thinking an automatic. And the 9 inch rear would also be a good choice if I have one. Any advice is welcomed. What is a good site to find out what the specs are like what equipment Ford put into the Ltd and others.

#1 I doubt the transmission in the LTD is a C6, it's probably a C4 since it came equipped with the 302. Even if it had the C6, you'll want a better fitting, more efficient transmission for the Mustang.

#2 I don't think any vehicles other than the Lincoln Versailles and trucks had the 9" in 1979. You probably have a 7.5" or 8" rear. Even if the LTD did have a 9", you'd need to cut the axle tubes and modify it to fit into a Mustang chassis.
