Ford updated its horsepower calculations in '93 I believe, so that is where the lost horsepower is. So I guess since the regular H.O. motor had 205 hp you could say that H.O. horsepower calculations were down about 9% (down from 225, so divide 205 into 225 times 100 and you get 91%). So now you can figure out how much hp the Cobra would have been advertised with using the old method. So 235/x=91/100 (Cobra had 235 hp)using the law of ratios, cross multiplying you get 258 hp. So with the old calculations the Cobra would have been rated at about 260 hp. This is not Ford's method, just something that I noticed and figured out real quick. If the law of ratios applies here (which it should) this should be fairly accurate, but Ford does some wierd things.
