93CobraR ! ! !
Hey I have a question for you...
I noticed on killer canarys post you said you picked up 3-4 mph with the GT40 heads. In your sig it says you now run 12.9@103.x mph. Before I thought you ran low 13's@104mph. I noticed the ET went down but the mph went down also. I always thought 104mph was insane for stock heads. Was that just a typo before, and now its running 12.9@103? Just wondering... anyways congrats on 12's. I've run 104.45 on stock heads N/A w/ a 13.24 pass. I've gone 112 on the nitrous.....that is stock everything. |

Heres what happen. I broke a vavle spring and it bent the valve. So I had a extra set of heads from a 86 GT at work and just swaped them out. After I got them on the car was only running a 13.5@100 or so at the end of the season. So I bought these GT-40's and put them on and here I am. My old heads don't look like they have anything done to them, as far as I know they have never been off the car. Some old lady had it before I bought it off my friend that didn't do anything. It made me currious when I swaped them why it was that much slower??? Maybe bad vavle springs on the heads? Or the poor flow on the E6's or what ever they are. They had 188k on them. They were just a replacement till I got some money. So instead of just replacing that vavle and putting them back on I decided I would put the money into a better investment, and here I am. Make since now? So it did pick that much up over my 2nd set of heads, but theoredically not much over the original E7's that were on there. Anymore questions just ask....

Oh yeah, you car looks like you got it running strong now. Your about like me pulling all the ET you can out of your mph. Your gettng close to that 110 you want. If I can figure out how to get my runs on the computer I will post them. I have them on tape, and I'll let you analize them.

Ok, cool that makes sence. Nos_Notch, I know cars do it, but its not exactly a everyday occurance, it still boggles my mind.
Anyways I wonder if your E7's were ported or you even had Gt40's before? Sky ------------------ -1989 Saleen Mustang #406- TFS Heads, E-303, edelbrock intake,70MM TB, 73mm MAF, off road H, headers and 3chamber flows. 12.55@107mph Runs on 87 Octane and gets 24mpg! |
