AFR???
What do you guys/gals think of these AFR heads on a naturally asperated motor? Are they just as good or better than lets say Edelbrock,Trickflow,GT40X,or any other head.
Any help or articles would be a great help. Thanks |
I have been looking at heads for my 1970 351 Mustang too. From all of the information I have seen, the AFR heads flow better than anything else on the market. I plan on buying a set when I get the rest of my components nailed down. MiracleMax is putting a set on his car soon and said he would post costs and performance figures.

I have the 351W set with 185cc and they make so much torque it is totally incredible.
I'm making almost 600# of torque with my set-up.. These heads are the big contributor to that number, high flow and small runners, combined with high compression. ------------------ 393,9.5" 351W 830 Holley HP Victor Jr. Home made Cool Air Pan Pro Billet MSD |
I have the AFR 165cc in my 66' Coupe, Ed Curtis did a nice custom cam to compliment
the heads. I'm useing a stock roller shortblock, i'm REALLY happy with the combo. Regards, BillGear www.289mustang.com |

I just ordered mine from a place called JD's performance in Orlando Florida, their number is 888-217-0899, they also have a website but I don't know it off hand. They just a group purchase on the AFR heads, both 165 and 185cc, pedestal and stud mount, and 65/58cc comb. chambers. Cost was $1175, everywhere else jumped up to 1325 this year from $1250 last year. The group purchase ended on January 31st though. I should have mine in 3 weeks. And by the way, they seem to be the best head for the street, they produce some impressive numbers.
