Default Aftermarket Gauge Install?

I bought 2 gauges for the 95 5.0l motor i have, an electrical water temperature gauge, and an electrical oil pressure guage.

the installation instructions says i need a t fitting for the water temp. gauge and the oil pressure gauge. do i really need this or can i use the stock sensor?

probably dumb questions, but ive never installed an aftermarket gauge before.

thanks

What does it say you need a T fitting for? Usually T fittings are for vacuum gauges. I only have mechanical gauges on my ride. If I remember right, you have two senders. One for the water and one for the oil. The water temp sender should be able to screw right into the lower intake(with teflon tape). The oil sender can be located on the side of the block by the oil filter. On the back of the gauges it should be marked with I, S, GND. I should go to ignition switch, S goes to sender, and GND goes to ground. That's all it should need. Same goes for the oil pressure sender. Hope that helps.

you cannot use the stock sender w/ autometer gauges, you simply take out the old senders, pop in new ones with teflon (no leaks) and run the wiring as per their instructions. you only need a t fitting if you want to run BOTH the autometer and stock gauges. post any other ques, good luck

Move the stock water temp gauge from the front of the motor, to the (new) rear of the motor on the intake. (move from near #5 to near #8)

Get a t-fitting for the oil pressure. Or drill/tap a new fitting on the oil log:

Run new senders for the new gauges.
