Default Aftermarket Gauge Install?

I bought 2 gauges for the 95 5.0l motor i have, an electrical water temperature gauge, and an electrical oil pressure guage.

the installation instructions says i need a t fitting for the water temp. gauge and the oil pressure gauge. do i really need this or can i use the stock sensor?

probably dumb questions, but ive never installed an aftermarket gauge before.

thanks
