Post Gauge Install Questions

Hello,

I purchased a mechanical water temp. gauge from autometer, as well as the chrome thermostat housing from FMS with a 1/2 in threaded port. The sensor for the gauge interferes with the thermostat. To those of you who have done this before, what fitting am I missing that will allow the sensor to be mounted into the thermostat housing without interference.

I also have an autometer vacuum gauge. Can I hook the tubing up to the plugged port on the vacuum tree, or is there a better vacuum line off of the upper intake to tap into with a t-fitting?

Thanks for your help,
Ryan

Not too sure on the water temp gauge, but you can hook the vaccuum gauge to any vaccuum source! Good luck!

Have you tried switching with the stock sensor? I'm having trouble remembering, but I think the Autometer sensor needed to be screwed into a larger "adapter fitting" to be large enought to fit and it had a farther reach. The stock sensor should fit w/o interfering w/ the thermostat. It's worth the 5 minutes to try.

I'll try it, I didn't think of that.
Thanks,
