Default Air Pressure and Nitto Drag Radials

I run 275/40/17 nitto drag radial on 9" rims on the street everyday at about 15 psi. I was noticing that im wearing out the center 3" of tread, but the outsides of the tires still have tread. Generally this is a symptom of overinflation, Right? Am I running the tires at too low of pressure and having the opposite effect? I dont think I can go much lower without risking the tire coming off the rim in a sharp turn. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions? What air pressure is everyone else running on the street?

Thanks

Default drag radial psi.

I run the BFG drag radials on the stock 16x7 5-star wheels. I usually run the tires at around 25 psi. on the street, and they wear very evenly. I used to run them at 30psi. and the wear pattern was normal then as well. If I'm going out looking for trouble ...then I might drop them down to 15-20psi., but only for that day.

underinflated on the highway, maybe the center would bulge out and wear the center and not the edges. i dont know. i wouldnt run them that low everyday though, i would do what simistang said and run them at 25 give or take a few.

I used a set of Nitto DR for the entire race season last year. Trust me the tires hook the best @22-28 psi.

You need all the rubber touching the road for a good launch. When I tried them @12-20 psi they didnt hook nearly as well.

He is right. Mine are the same way. And my tires look just like you decribed. Just beat them into the ground and buy another set when they are done
