Post MAC or Flowmasters?? Please give opinions.

I am getting ready to purchase a new H or X pipe and exhaust system. I am torn between the MAC Flowpath and Flowmaster 2-chamber. Any opinions welcome. Also, would the car make more power with an off-road H and equal length shorty, or with an off-road X and keeping the stock headers? I am having a hard time with this decision because I am spending a whole week's paycheck and don't want to be unhappy.
I really like the sound of an X-pipe, but would like to replace the entire system at once. The previous owner of my car cut out the stock h-pipe and welded in two straight pipes(no "H") back to some cheapass mufflers.
Please help.

Do a search for mac and flowmaster. There have been numerous posts lately about that.

I have heard both and decided on the MAC. The Flowpaths have a meaner rumble and don't sound as hollow as the Flowmasters. The only thing I don't like about MAC stuff is the coating. It doesn't hold up. But lets face it... it's exhaust components so no real biggie. Plus, MAC's Pro Chamber crossover is the best flowing crossover you can get for the money. If I didn't get the MAC crossover I would have gone with the Dr. Gas X-pipe.

I'd highly suggest installing a set of long tubes along with everything else. If you don't and you want to go with long tubes later you'll have to buy another crossover. People say that adding long tubes will hurt low end torque on a stock engine. I installed them on mine when it was completely stock and it made a huge difference in power all the way accross the RPM range.

Here is a sound clip of my car with a full MAC exhaust system consisting of long tubes, Pro Chamber, and cat-bac. http://www.mustangwarehouse.com/sounds/sample002.wav

Take into consideration that this was recorded when my car was completely stock. It sounds even meaner now with the heads, cam, intake, and all the other mods.

MAC all the way. Pro dumps and an off road h are what are on my stang. I have guys with Flows asking how my var sounds soooo mean. I love my Mac stuff, and my HTS coating is holding up great.

I wanted something that would make power, so I went with Magnaflows. Even with an offroad x pipe and dumps, my car is still quieter than most mustangs I've heard. If you want to make noise, go with the Mac or Flowmasters. If you want to make power, go with the Magnaflows or a set of Dynomax Ultraflows.

Where's the cheapest place to get the MAC 2.5" Cat-back with SS Tips?? Mustangs Unlimited has them for $239.99.
