got my motor together,,,, HOLY SH*T
unbelievable..... this thing pulls like a freight train to about 5800 rpm's.. I never imagined the torque would increase that much, (either that or i forgot what it was like).....
Can't wait till i get those gears in.... where can I get a track lok rebuild kit (if that's what i have)?? how much $$?? is it easy to rebuild?? hoping I can do it myself, got an estimate $1,100.00 with a new carrier (forget what brand), bearings, seals and 3:73 gears ------------------ Black,84 GT,ground effects,shorty headers, 'open' dual exh.,302 HO(no pollution control crap),T5,89 ported heads,edelbrock Performer manifold, Edelbrock 2122 cam,600 Holley, high volume oil pump... 4:10's on their way!!!! |

man your car sounds pretty cool.
I'm not sure how easy the trac-lok is to rebuilt since i've never done it myself. You have basically a similar engine combo to that i want to build. With your new engine, once you add new gears it should really scream! ------------------ '84 Mustang 5.0 LX My car |

Glad to hear everything worked out for you..yes you do have a trac loc and I think you can get the rebuild kit for almost any parts store. If you are mechanically inclined you could rebuild it yourself, but that would also be the time to add those gears. Get a quote from the shop who is doing your gears, with it all apart anyways it may not cost that much more.

Tell me you're not going to spen $1100 to rebuild your diff.
