Another N2O ???? dry system on a carb'd 5.0
I read alot over the past few weeks about n2o, dry vs wet systems... Dry sounds like the perfect product for a rookie n2o user, but the ads and info I've read on dry systems leads me to believe;
a dry system can only be installed on EFI??? clarification pleeze... ------------------ Black,84 GT,ground effects,shorty headers, 'open' dual exh.,302 HO(no pollution control crap),T5,89 ported heads,edelbrock Performer manifold, Edelbrock 2122 cam,600 Holley, high volume oil pump... gears (4:10's) on their way!!!! |
the only really dry system for a carb is the NOS sneaky pete...about 75HP, but a small bottle..good for a couple runs.. dry just doenst work right with a carb
------------------ 84 convt,'95 302,AFR's, performer 3.55's, underdrives BBK shorties stock cam, 1.7's 13.85@102.5 and a '68 stang that WAS nasty ;-) |
and actually, you'll have no probs with a wet system on a carb, they are set to be rich to begin with...

THANKS FOR THE INPUT, THAT WAS THE ONE THING i COULD'NT FIGURE OUT ABOUT THE N2O..

Jerry, think of it this way: The EFI intake manifold was never designed to have anything other than air pass through it, thus a dry system is best. A carbureted intake was designed to flow both air and fuel, and to aid in their mixing as well, therefore a carbureted intake uses a wet system. Understand?

thx Chris, that was the one part of the N2O i could'nt figure out...
Now, I think I got it, so a 100 shot through a carb'd semi-stock motor should be OK, for now...... in about a month i'll be a bottle suk'r... ------------------ Black,84 GT,ground effects,shorty headers, 'open' dual exh.,302 HO(no pollution control crap),T5,89 ported heads,edelbrock Performer manifold, Edelbrock 2122 cam,600 Holley, high volume oil pump... gears (4:10's) coming soon. N2O, soon to follow!!! |
You'll be fine. I would highly recommend you add a second electric fuel pump for the fuel that is added w/ the nitrous. Go here: http://homepage.mac.com/pkrwud/.Pict...ics/Buick.jpeg
And look at the right side of the middle picture. You can see an additional fuel pump mounted to the front of the head that was dedicated to helping the nitrous. Any questions, email me. ------------------ Retired Moderator MustangNet My site: JimPorterRacing RACECAR spelled backwards is RACECAR HEY !!! Are you ASE Certified ??? If you are, ask me about iATN.
