Thumbs up Which Cowl Hood is Better???

I know a lot of you out there have cowl hoods, so this is a good place to ask. I have the stock hood on my '88 GT and everytime I get on it the engine raises up just enough to scratch my polished intake up. I am really tired of sanding it back down so what I would like to know is, who makes a really good bolt on cowl hood that fits real well? All I really see is Cervini's and Harwood's, is there any other good ones out there? Or are those the best ones to buy. Any help would be great!

I bought the harwood 4 inch cowl bolt on hood from jegs $444 plus $90 to ship it. It doesn't fit right and it needs to be filed down quite a bit all the way around to make it fit perfect. =( I'm pretty fed up with it, I think I'm sending it back. I heard cervini's says pefect fit plus it's like $389.

I have a Cervini 3" cowl. It's finished nicely and fit real well. It bolts right on.

Do you have a 351 or do you have a 1" spacer on your intake?

I have a 1" spacer. I hear the underside of a Cervini's doesn't need to be painted because it is finished, is that true?

The Cervini underside is finished in black, but it should probably be painted. I had to butcher mine since it still rubbed. I had a 1" spacer on a 351W.

Are you using that 1" spacer out of necessity or are you trying to boost your low end torque? If it's simply to keep your intake temp down, you may want to consider a shorter spacer with EGR blocked. If it's out of necessity, TFS valve covers clear roller rockers and are stock height.
