Question Any one with a sway bar?

I installed a steeda rear sway bar, I notice that it is touching the back plate of the axle. I tried moving it but is F@#$%ing tight.
My question to you is does the sway bar has to touch the back plate of the axle or is it suppose to be separated from the axle.
I will appreciate any help as I am planing on removing it this weekend.
Ps. the sway bar is also adjustable.
