get 1.6 roller rockers, 165 afr heads, trick flow track heat intake, 65 mm throttle body, pro m 75 mass air (if u choose EFI) if not, go with a wieand stealth intake and a 650 cfm carb. i'm not much on carb'ed. cars, all i mess around with is EFI.

You gotta have a plan for the car? is it daily driven, weekend warrior? power is in the heads, most of us know that, however power adders are easier ways to achieve high power, if your carbed, the holley carb and vic jr. intake is proven, especially with some compression and even mild cam. i like my 1.7 rockers also, but i use stock cam, you have to be careful using 1.7's and high lift cams.

Easy HP- the pulleys and headers are good additions. Doenst sound like your wanting to go wild with the engine so I suggest throttle body (if its staying fuel injected), a good air filter, good exhaust set-up, electric fan, bumped timing, rockers, maybe port the stock heads. These are all cheap mods that you can do to give your stang some extra kick. Remember also a good tune-up and quality fuels are important as well. Maybe this is more conservative then you want to be, but I think its pretty realistic. Good luck with your car.

THe absolute biggest bang for the buck on a stock Mustang is GEARS! 3:73's would be my choice on a 5 speed.
True, it doesn't add one horsepower but the kick in the pants you will feel will make it seem like it.

Piston to valve clearance may become an issue if you run the 1.7 rockers with a high lift cam. I wouldn't worry about it though...unless you plan on sticking a huge cam in there. If you are leaving the stock cam in place than by all means jump up to the 1.7 rockers. But if you are swapping out the cam for a more radical profile...you might want to stick with the 1.6 rockers.
