Just to let you know people would probaly flame you hardcore on here for the whole chevy in a ford thing, but since I'm saying this I doubt they will. You have a nice looking motor there, and your putting some killer times down. I like ford's and chevy's so no flames from me. I see that you have the header adapters to run big block/big tube headers? How do you like those? What kind of headers are you running? Here is a picture of my motor in my S-10

Cool 1bad 89 they are

lemons headers http://www.lemonsheaders.com/
He custom builds them, thatnks on the comp.man hope they dont flame me to bad/
They are nice just got them tuesday.
As for the adapters I like them u have to port them to match you heads but I like the ease of geting to the header bolts better.
I have more room in here than an the ford engine does.A buddy of mine has a 88 calf.car with mass aircar with a 306 canfeilds bcam .yadyayd we put some BBBK long tubes on his its a PITA to get them in I just stick these in from the bottom of the car goes right in no trouble at all,
Dan @lemonsd headers.I think Hes building full lenght headers s10s with SBC in them.
I think I sould go a bit faster this yr. dumped the cast iron vortech heads for some ProAction alum. heads angle mill .130 off them and the basic porting and valve job.also going to change to a NX express system .Ive had them before they work a lot better.
oh by the way like the S-Ten

MMMMMM..... Long tubes is just what I want for my S-10 You wouldn't by chance know ANY-PLACE where I can get some tubular A-Arms for my S-10 would you? I've checked everywhere with no luck. Thanks for the compliment.

Most of our headers are sold directly to the racer at $850.00 we accept cash, check, Visa, or Mastercard!

Oh my....wonder if that is how much the S-10 headers are? Is that how much you paid for them? They look like killer headers.

I wouldn't flame you regardless of what anyone else said. I have owned them all, and work on them all regularly. That's a beautiful engine! Funny, but my first thought was to inquire about the headers, too. Truly a quality piece! That manifold reminds me of the Strip Dominator (remember those) I had on a 350 years and years ago. Anyway, that is a killer ride, and there is no reason at all for you to apologize, or fear flames. Anyone who flames that kind of work is a flame in and of themselves.

Nice ride!

Take care,
-Chris

Well, im not going to flame ya either, i think it looks nice. All my family are chevy people. I had a few friends with fox body stangs so i picked up one for about 2000 bux to see what it was like, put another 3000 into the motor, and i like it, im having fun. I didnt know anything about them, i would come to this site occasionaly and read through archieves, research and ended up learnign alot. Im not partial to either, whatever it takes to go fast i just like being around and working with cars. But like i said, its a nice motor, and your getting some real good times with it, that deserves some respect, best of luck to you and your car

The first thing that jumped out at me were the headers. Now I know why. Ouch.

Anything that goes fast is a good thing

It had a crappy 2.3 anyways, and maybe the 383 was the closest motor at the time. Probably not that much harder than converting to a 5.0 anyways.

Hmm 454 in a notch, gee I have a 454 in my garage and a 4 cyl notch.... Yikes that made my head hurt just thinking about that

That motor looks sweet! And with times like those you've got my respect. You also must have spent countless hours putting it all together too.
