GT 40 iron heads
How can I identify GT40 iron heads? Found some for sale at a good price but inside the valve cover they just have ''GT'' are these GT40s or stock GT heads?

Those would be GT-40's. There should also be 3 vertical bars casted in at the front and the back of the heads.
E7TE heads (stock) do not have a "GT" cast into them.
