Anyone with flowtech longtube

I'm on a tight budget and i wan't to buy flowtech longtube ceramic headers. What do you guys think? What kind of problem i can have with them. Starter clearance? Leaking? I will also buy the flowtech x-pipe. For less money i could buy mac or bbk with no coating but ceramic coating is very important to me.

well, i used the flowtech full lengths and had no complaints except that they can be annoying to put in.

When it comes to headers, save your money and get something good. I was cheap about it and got some full-length BLOWtechs at one point. After about 4 hours of installation time, they were finally in, but they leaked just about every 2 days, and the bolts were impossible to get tight. I'd really like to talk to the engineer who dreamed up these little nightmares, really. Just how the heck you're supposed to use a wrench on them bolts they give ya is beyond me. I know, I was thinking 'gearench' too, but that didn't work either.

I eventually saved up and bought chrome BBK full lengths & the H-pipe. They were so EASY to put in I almost cried because I had wasted so much time & effort on those other headers. I think I spent mebbe one hour total installation time with the BBKs, and yes I could actually tighten the bolts. Somebody over at BBK was thinking. ;)

You're right, ceramic is nice. But so is a good-fitting header with a thick flange that's not going to leak. You can always have the jet-hot put on later, and I believe at about the same cost.

Moral of the story: you get what you pay for. Always.

I installed a set underneath the car and had no problem. Put them in and took them out within half an hour. ONLY real problem with them is that the primaries are too big for a semi stock 302. They have 1 3/4 I'd look into something around 1 5/8 next time.
