The guy that sold it to me said he thinks its form an auto, but isnt sure...

Try calling your local FORD DEALER'S PART COUNTER,they should be able to give you the correct answer.

That part number is from 1987, so it looks like you got a speed density computer. Is that what you wanted?

yep

And apparently (if what I read was true) manual comps work fine on AUTO cars....even a little better.

I think thats the other way around. Autos computers go both ways (auto and manual) and manual computers dont work with the auto.
