Anyone seen this problem with Fuel Sump??
I am converting over to a Carb and recently had a Comp. Engineering Fuel Sump welded onto my Factory Fuel Tank. I put some water in the tank to test for leaks. Well, a few days later after the water had been drained and the tank allowed to dry, a noticeable amount of rust had started to form inside the tank where the Sump was welded. I started to wonder if a year or two down the road this is going to be a serious problem. Should more people be concerned about this? When welding anything to the Gas tank you are really burning off the galvanized coating on the tank that prevents rust from forming, thus the potential for rust to form. I would like to hear any advice on this. Thank you, James |
