Anyone using M/T Sportsman Pro's?
I want a good set of DOT tires for the track. Drag radials are hard to come by up North here and cost a fortune (not to mention that there isn't a decent size for a 15X7 rim). I can get a great price on a set of 26x9.5 Sportsman Pros and the guy that gave me the price told me that they hook better than drag radials but aren't as good as ET Streets (My second choice because of $$$). I'm also a little weary of a 10.5" tire on a 15x7 rims so that's why I'm leaning to the 26x9.5 Sportsman Pro rather than the ET streets.
Anyone have any experience with these?

No they arent e.t. streets, but hook good enough for me, my complaint is how tall they are, just a little taller than th et street, but affected my mph a little, i have 26x10.5 on a 15x8 weld, they rub the quad shock a little, not much.
i cut a 1.95 60' the other day while stomping on a 98-01 t/a. i drive round the water box, and heat them up dry, seems like the more they wear, the better short times im cutting, i like them, and in the rain they rule over e.t streets, cuz those are just dangerous in the rain. so with et streets and 3.27 grs i cut a 1.88, with theses sports pros i think i can hit a 1.90 with some practice.

By the time I got a set of Nittos to Canada they'd cost about $310 (Cdn) apiece for 275/50 15's when I can get the sportsman pro's for $186! I want to get my 60' below 1.9 which would put my car very close to 12's. ET streets rock but I just can't afford a set of proper rims for them right now, I'll probably get the Sportsman's for now because I'm getting considerable wear on my 17's (I can see a difference in the tread depth after a night at the strip even though I only do a very short dry hop). I can always sell the sportsman's to another fellow stanger who needs some hook if I decide I need ET streets later.
