Anything I need to know before Mass Air swap?
Ok I have my mass air conversion sitting here in the room waiting to go in. I have a set of instructions for the install, but is there anything I should know about before I try to do this? Any little tricks or hints that the instructions probably won't tell me? I plan on doing this either this week or the following week. Just looking for some advice from people who have done this before. Thanks in advance for the help.

I know that after I did mine, my car wouldn't do the KOER test. The new computer required that you have the clutch pedal pushed in while you ran the test! Good luck... it's not a hard swap, but go slow and make sure you hook all the wires up to the right places!

the Pro-m mass air setup is cake to install..instructions are good if thats the one ur using..after the swap my car ran better with changing out of the MAP sensor to the newer style BAP sensor..most people just loose the vaccum line from the intake to the MAP but mine didnt run right till i changed it to a BAP..

Ok LX you just lost me on the BAP/MAP sensor and the vaccum line. I have the stock conversion, but they came with the Pro-M instructions. I just don't want to get into the middle of this and find out I did something wrong that I can't fix. Thanx for the inputs so far.

I still have my map sensor and it runs fine after 10,000 miles on the mass air computer. I just unhooked the vaccuum and pluged it.

Ok, so the MAP sensor should be just a single vaccum line, not the vaccum tree thats on the driverside firewall right? Should I go ahead and disconnect it and plug it up? What would involve swapping it out to a BAP sensor? Once again I appreciate your help so far. Just trying to learn as much as I can before I do this.

it is only 2 bolts to take it out..it is located right behind the intake on the firewall and like jl1314 said it has one vaccum line and one wire plug going to it..
now just disconnecting the MAP sensor and leaving it should make it a BAP sensor but my car didnt idle right till i swapped it and i know another that did the same..so try just disconecting it at first..if no luck then just get a BAP from a junkyard or Ford ------------------ 1987 black notch(ex 4 banger) DSS 306 w/ main support...Elderbrock 6028 heads..gt-40 intake..24# injectors...70 mm tb..77 pro-m...accel 300+..mac full legnth..tremec w/ pro5oh...full MAC exhaust, off road h-pipe,long tubes, catback...ron davis radiator..subframes, control arms...CFDF II..o yea holley FPR sucks..dont buy one.. Great, thanx a lot LX. I appreciate your help and JL1314's help. Now if I can just find the time to do this! I'll let you know how it goes.
