A local tranny shop that i have done business with in the past tells me that if i add a new intake manifold and larger thottle body and bump the power,He says that the aod trans will not hold up.He says you have to raise the line presure,is this true? It's a '92 5.0.

The new intake and throttle body won't add much of any hp, so he's wrong about that causing problems. On the other hand, the AOD is known as a relatively weak tranny. The first major mods you should do to those cars is beef up the tranny so you won't be spending money down the road fixing them.

Sides, a converter, shift kit, and 4.10 gears will probably drop you nearly a second in your ET.

What sort of things can you do to beef up the tranny?
