AOD QUESTION
Guys, just bought a 88 GT conv. Aod was just rebuilt. First thing in the morning when I place it in drive, i'm feeling a slip for a split second. I don't feel it anymore but it is consistent- every morning. Any clues where to begin? Secondly, does a shift kit help or hurt a aod? Thanks for the help.

shift kit is good, i would bet the slip your feeling is just the transmission engaging, its not instantaneous, be patient, all autos take time to engage

Shift is especially good on an AOD. They slip quite a bit stock and are susceptible to heat damage. check out www.baumannengineering.com - he's got about the best kit going.
Lots of good tech info, too. Couple good additions you an put in while you're doing your shift kit is the Art Carr "zero leak" 2-3 shift accumulator and an A od servo - available at Baumann, Carr, etc. go in just under (above) the valve body, no other disasembly. About $30+ each. |
Thanks for the info. What about the transgo shift kit, isn't it a good one also?

transgo kits work well.
