![]() My car is a 91 GT with an AOD. It has 49K original miles on it and I am the 2nd owner of the car. The car ran perfect from when I bought it back in November 01, but this past week, I basically lost drive while cruising. I took it to a transmition place and the guy said that the tranny needs to be taken out of the car and rebuilt. I couldn't believe it when he told me because my car only has 49K original miles on it! Should I go with the rebuild, or just buy a new tranny?

![]() If done by a reputable shop, an AOD rebuild is the way to go, but if you dont know of any good shops, then a new one is probably a good idea.
If you plan on modding the car very much in the future then it might be worth while to check out Lentech Automatic's. or you could always do what I did and swap to a T-5 ![]()
