Question AOD to T5 computer???

Is there any major drivability problems with keeping the aod computer after the swap? I was told that it wouldn't run right but thought I heard before it would run better with it.

Also, whats up with the starter index plate, is it a must have for the swap? I think now all I need is the pivot ball, just not sure what it is, lol.

Thanks

As far as the computer goes, I drove around with a auto computer and a T5 for a long time. It did no real damage, however, the car did some weird things. Like, if you were driving along and you just put the clutch pedal down, the engine would stay reved up at about 2k for a while and then decide to settle down to idle. The starter index plate is a must. As well as the pivot ball, which should have come with your bellhousing.

The AOD computer will work fine in a T-5 car, plus it has more aggressive fuel and timing curves to you will actually pick up performance vs a T-5 unit.

I heard the exact opposite about the AOD Computer. I heard the T-5 computer gives a more aggresive fuel mixture.

hey quantum, that problem is most likely the dual 10pin connectors right behind the upper intake, just take them apart, clean em out, and put em back together

that fixed my rev @ 2k problem

and that was after i tried fixing the TPS and several other things
