The easiest way is to buy the crate motor, the most expensive way is to pay someone else to custom build an engine for you, and the the only way I've ever found to make sure it's done the way you want is to do it yourself.

And, to answer your question... Yes, I built my 377 myself. I build all my own engines.

Or, let me actually clarify the process... I buy all the needed parts myself. I then farmout any required machine work needed. I typically take each thing (boring, porting, balancing, etc) to different people. Each being the best, and the one I trust, with each thing (i.e. don't put all your eggs in one basket, they usually F it up!). I then assemble my own engine and do all installation work.

One of these days, I will get the project car section done. The whole thing will be covered there. I have over 100 pictures of the engine going together.
